Manufacture
Each birthplace of Grand Seiko is carefully selected to offer ideal conditions for Takumis to research and develop the finest materials and advanced technology.

Two birthplaces, two studios and three movements

Committed to the strictest standards of Grand Seiko’s philosophy of manufacture, each and every detail from development, design and manufacturing to assembly and adjustment is meticulously crafted in-house, with inspection and even shipping sincerely followed through with the same thought and care.

Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi is located in majestic Iwate prefecture and the Shinshu Watch Studio is surrounded by the beautiful mountains and lake of Shinshu.

Three movements are crafted in these idyllic soul places:
The Mechanical movement
ーfrom the Hi-Beat 36,000 to the 28,800ー
represents the sharp precision of time.
The Spring Drive movement
ーbringing together mechanical and electronic watchmaking for the best of both worldsー
portrays the seamless flow of time.
The Quartz movement
ーwhich marks the passage of time second by secondー
expresses powerful precision.
Each movement all tell distinctive stories unfolding THE NATURE OF TIME.
