Features
In 2001, Grand Seiko introduced the SBGW003 with Caliber 9S54, its first manually wound 9S mechanical movement. As a tribute to SBGW003, the new SBGW325 features the distinctive Arabic numerals that characterized the original dial.
The watch’s deep navy dial, inspired by Japan’s traditional indigo-dyeing tradition, is paired with boldly raised indexes that stand out with remarkable dimensionality, creating a striking and elegant contrast. The crocodile leather strap is dyed with the traditional hon-ai (natural indigo dyeing) techniques. The strap is hand-dyed by skilled craftsmen through a meticulous and time-consuming process to achieve a rich, deep navy hue complementing the color of the dial.

Traditional elegance enhanced by masterful craftsmanship
The case design, which carries the essence of the Grand Seiko’s first watch into the present, features a round form that presents a gentle silhouette from every angle. Though seemingly simple, the lugs feature an intricate slope that widens toward the tip, accentuating the distortion-free mirror surface and delicate ridgelines created through Zaratsu polishing. The brilliant shine of the case, created with great skill and care, adds a touch of tension to the classic aesthetic, resulting in a sophisticated and graceful design.
Special strap included
An interchangeable calf leather strap is included, featuring a soft, comfortable fit and a distinctive grained texture.
Caliber 9S64
The manually wound mechanical movement features a power reserve of 72 hours (about three days). As the mainspring unwinds, its torque diminishes gradually to ensure that accuracy remains stable.
