Heritage Collection Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000 SBGH347

A high-beat mechanical watch with a dial depicting the fantastic scenery of an icefall.

Heritage Collection

Caractéristiques

This watch inherits the traditional style of the 9S mechanical series while introducing a new dial expression. Inspired by an “icefall” one might encounter on Mt. Iwate, the peak visible from the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, during harsh winter months, the dial captures a striking natural spectacle. An icefall occurs when flowing water gradually freezes in sub-zero temperatures. This enchanting scene is expressed through the ice-blue colored dial, which features a pattern balancing dynamism and delicacy. The movement is the Caliber 9S85, a high-frequency mechanical movement vibrating at 10 beats per second within a compact 37mm case. Both the case and bracelet are made of Ever-Brilliant Steel, which shines whiter than conventional stainless steel while offering exceptional corrosion resistance.

A dynamic and detailed dial

The city of Hachimantai in Iwate Prefecture is the home of Nanataki, a 30-meter waterfall that originates from a stream that flows down Mt. Iwate. The dial represents this frozen waterfall, which creates massive icicles during the coldest time of the year. The new dial pattern and color illustrate the dynamism of the frozen Nanataki and the mysterious expressions found in the bluish-white hue of the ice.

Ever-Brilliant Steel with superior corrosion resistance

Ever-Brilliant Steel is a stainless-steel material that boasts higher corrosion resistance than the stainless steel used in regular high-end watches (indeed, it has the highest level of corrosion resistance in the world), one that shines with a brilliant white. Ever-Brilliant Steel has a PREN (pitting resistance equivalent number) that is 1.7 times that of the steel typically seen in luxury watches.

Caliber 9S85

This high-frequency mechanical movement was developed by rethinking the parts that form the foundation of the watch’s precision, granting the level of torque necessary to maintain a high oscillation rate and realizing a practical power reserve of about 55 hours when fully wound.
