Grand Seiko Movements
There are three main types of movements used in Grand Seiko watches.
The 9S mechanical movement inherits the tradition of the first Grand Seiko and has evolved uniquely through advanced technology and master craftsmanship.
The 9R Spring Drive movement, like mechanical movements, is powered by the unwinding of a mainspring, but achieves far greater precision thanks to the use of an IC and a quartz oscillator.
The 9F quartz movement features an innovative design that breaks away from conventional quartz standards.
These exclusive Grand Seiko movements are produced at two dedicated manufactures in Japan.
