Features
Inspired by the subtle shades of
light and shadow in Japanese architecture
From the European Exclusive Light & Shadow collection of just two watches, this timepiece is named ‘Asakage’ for light. ‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs - a Japanese spirituality where each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and
shadow.
This timepiece expresses the ‘Grand Seiko Style’ design language of simplicity, purity and practicality. First created in 1967, the ‘Grand Seiko Style’ is the embodiment of the Grand Seiko design philosophy, first established with the 44GS model in 1967. The 44GS created a visually recognisable
grammar of design for Grand Seiko watches to follow – balancing legibility and light for a beautifully clear and calm dial layout.
The slim profile of this watch is powered by the manual-winding 9S movement with a power reserve of 72 hours and accuracy of +5 to -3 seconds per day.
Every Grand Seiko features signature high standards of precision, durability and legibility, handcrafted in Japan by Takumi artisans.
Grand Seiko: beautifully, precise Japanese watchmaking, from the pinnacle of Seiko Watch Corporation’s in-house ‘manufacture.’
