This model features a case design that reinterprets the 62GS, which debuted in 1967 as Grand Seiko’s first automatic mechanical watch, with a modern sensibility. The dial expresses the harsh yet beautiful scenery of Shinshu, the birthplace of the Spring Drive watches, covered in deep snow around the seasonal period known in Japan as Taisetsu. It is powered by the Spring Drive Caliber 9R65, an automatic movement equipped with a power reserve indicator and offering a power reserve of approximately 72 hours when fully wound.
The case and bracelet are made of high-intensity titanium, which is about 30% lighter than stainless steel and offers superior scratch and corrosion resistance, ensuring a light and comfortable wearablity.

A case design that modernizes the 62GS, a milestone in the Grand Seiko’s history
Grand Seiko’s first automatic watch, the 62GS, was introduced in 1967. Its most distinctive feature is almost certainly its bezel-less structure, in which the glass is directly fixed to the case body. This design reduces the visual thickness of the watch while allowing light to enter the dial from multiple angles. This model inherits the bezel-less structure and other design elements of the original 62GS from 1967, while refining aspects such as wearability and crown operability to achieve a more contemporary design.
A dial inspired by the snowy winter landscape in Shinshu
