Winter, when the natural beauty of time is at its most striking
In Japan, each of the four seasons of the year is experienced in six phases called Sekki and the subtle changes from one to the next bring the nature of time ever closer to our senses. This watch’s inspiration is Tōji when the winter solstice arrives. The dial shimmers in the crystal-clear light and has the texture of the snow that covers the Shinshu area where all Grand Seiko Spring Drive watches are made. The GMT hand catches the last rays of the evening sun. As the unique glide motion of Spring Drive moves the seconds hand smoothly and silently across the dial, it is a perfect expression of the very nature of time itself.
