Features
Powerful, dignified, and regal, the lion is the enduring symbol of Grand Seiko, carrying forth an unwavering spirit evident in the company’s continuous pursuit of the best possible watchmaking from its beginning in 1960. The watch’s inspiration, the lion emerging from the darkness, is expressed through the over 600 diamonds that adorn the case, dial, bezel, and crown to create a powerful and imposing presence. The pavé setting delivers a radiant sparkle along the ridges, highlighting the exquisite shape of the case. This brilliance is further enhanced by setting the diamonds side-by-side with black spinels, boldly expressing the concept of light and shadow that is so critical to Grand Seiko design. The movement powering this high-jewelry masterpiece is the Spring Drive Caliber 9R01, created by the skilled men and women of the Micro Artist Studio. Its three barrels arrayed in series allow for continuous operation of up to eight days (about 192 hours).

A jewelry watch befitting Grand Seiko
Created through press patterning, the center of the dial is inspired by a lion’s mane. The diamonds and black spinels that surround the dial function as minute markers, expressing the time with perfect legibility. These precious stones are evenly set around the arc of the dial within rails crafted in 18K white gold by highly skilled artisans. The gray tempered seconds hand glides above the dial, smoothly tracking the passage of time. The first pavé setting from Grand Seiko
This jewelry watch features Grand Seiko's first-ever pavé setting on the case. Diamonds of various sizes are meticulously arranged to fit seamlessly together with matched heights, creating an expansive brilliance. Pavé setting on the Platinum 950 case can only be achieved through exceptional craftsmanship, and great care has been taken in polishing the remaining thin edges to ensure they are as sharp as possible.Caliber 9R01
