A Spring Drive U.F.A. watch that depicts the moonlit surface of Lake Suwa at night.
Features
With its textured pattern, the black dial expresses the surface of Lake Suwa by night. This tranquil body of water can be found near the place where Spring Drive watches are crafted at the Shinshu Watch Studio, housed in a Seiko Epson facility in the city of Shiojiri. The watch is equipped with the Spring Drive U.F.A. Caliber 9RB2, which delivers an extraordinary annual accuracy of ±20 seconds. It also features a power reserve of approximately 72 hours (about three days) when fully wound. The case and bracelet are made of High-Intensity Titanium, which shines brighter than conventional titanium while offering exceptional scratch and corrosion resistance.

The essence of Grand Seiko is infused with Japanese beauty.
Born in the pursuit of the ideal wristwatch, the Evolution 9 Style evinces a new design grammar that evolved from the Grand Seiko Style of 1967. Through the Evolution 9 Style, Grand Seiko forges a new path while honoring its origins.
A dial inspired by the surface of Lake Suwa shimmering in the moonlight
The dial’s distinctive texture is inspired by the surface of Lake Suwa, located southeast of the Shinshu Watch Studio, where the watch is crafted. A warm black gradation accented with a radial pattern delicately portrays the softly rippling surface of the lake at night and the gentle reflection of moonlight upon the water. Combined with the smooth, gliding motion of the Spring Drive seconds hand, the design evokes the subtle passage of time felt in the stillness of the lakeside.
Caliber 9RB2
The pursuit of high accuracy has always been the cornerstone of Grand Seiko’s values. Receiving the new U.F.A. designation, which stands for “Ultra Fine Accuracy,” Caliber 9RB2 boasts a level of precision defined not by accuracy in seconds per day, week, or month, but by accuracy over one year. The movement has an exceptional annual rate of ±20 seconds, or approximately ±3 seconds per month.
High-Intensity Titanium with exceptional beauty and lightweight comfort
The case and bracelet are crafted from High-Intensity Titanium, which retains titanium’s inherently outstanding corrosion resistance while offering a brighter appearance and enhanced scratch resistance compared to conventional titanium.
As a highly biocompatible material, it is less likely to cause metal allergies while achieving approximately 30% weight reduction compared to stainless steel. It allows for a refined, polished finish and delivers a light, comfortable wearing experience.
Three-step micro-adjustment clasp
The tapered bracelet features a three-step micro-adjustment clasp that operates without a tool, allowing a total of 6mm of fine adjustment in precise 2mm increments.
