Seiko Watch Corporation (the “Company”, “we”, “our” or “us”) offers online resources that provide product-related information and services, as well as corporate news, employment and other information related to our business.
The protection of personal data, as well as compliance with privacy and data protection laws and regulations, is important to our organization and affiliates. We aim to ensure the privacy rights of our consumers, business contacts, and employees when we handle information about them.
This policy only applies to personal data collected through our websites operated by us or by third parties acting for and on our behalf as data intermediaries. This policy does not apply to personal data collected from offline resources and communications, nor to third-party online resources to which our websites may link. We are committed to protecting personal data and complying with applicable privacy and data protection laws and regulations, including the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 of Singapore (as may be in force, amended or re-enacted from time to time) and/or the guidelines applicable in Singapore (collectively, the “Act” or “PDPA”). The term “personal data” we use herein has the same meaning as defined in the PDPA.

Collection of Your Personal Data
We collect personal data online through our websites (https://www.grand-seiko.com/sg-en/). Individuals may access many parts of our websites without providing any personal data. If you contact us and choose to provide your personal data, by entering into forms or data fields on our websites and corresponding with us, we will collect and use the personal data. The personal data we may collect include:
- your name;
- date of birth;
- gender;
- contact information such as email addresses and telephone numbers;
- demographic information such as residential address, postal code, preferences and interests;
- name, address, etc., department and title of the company to which you belong;
- bank account and other financial related information (where necessary);
- Information necessary for recruitment and/or employment (including marital status, academic background, employment history, payroll account numbers and other employment related information); and
- other information necessary for the purposes set out herein.

Further, when you visit our websites, we automatically collect information about your computer or other electronic device which may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, date and time of your request and information provided by tracking technologies, such as cookies.

The Purposes We Collect, Use and Disclose Your Personal Data
We collect, use and disclose your personal data to the extent permitted or required under applicable laws, for the following purposes:
- to (i) sell our products and services to you, (ii) bill you for our products and services you have requested, (iii) deliver our products and services to you, (iv) implement online membership services and (v) perform our obligations under a contract to which you are a party (collectively, "Performance Purposes");
- to (i) provide you with promotional information on our products and services, (ii) carry out promotional activities (including various sweepstakes and membership services) to you, (iii) send to you invitations to promotional events, (iv) invite you to participate in surveys and market research activities, and (v) analyze your interests to improve our products and services (collectively, "Marketing Purposes");
- to respond to your inquiry ("Contact Purpose"); and/or
- to comply with and enforce our rights and perform our obligations under applicable laws
We collect, use and disclose your personal data for Performance Purposes, Marketing Purposes and Contact Purpose based on your consent. When disclosing your opinions and photos on our website, we will only post information that is appropriate in light of this policy after obtaining your consent. We may also collect, use and disclose your personal data to comply with and enforce our rights and perform our obligations under applicable laws.
You can also refuse to provide your personal data to us. However, if you do not provide your data, this can have an effect on your use of website or some features on our websites may not fully function.
Notification at or Before Collection of Personal Data
Where we collect personal data in Singapore, we will notify you at or before collection (including through layered notices or just-in-time notices) of the purposes for collection, the types of personal data, categories of disclosures (including to service providers and group companies), whether cross-border transfers are involved, and how to contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO).
Consent management
We obtain your consent through appropriate mechanisms (e.g., online checkboxes, forms, or records of written consent) for the purposes described above and will request your consent prior to any additional purposes not previously notified, which you may refuse at your discretion. Where applicable, you may choose to provide consent only for certain purposes (e.g., service-related communications) and decline others (e.g., direct marketing). You may withdraw your consent at any time by submitting a written request addressed to our DPO; upon receipt, we will cease collection, use and/or disclosure of your personal data for the relevant purposes within ten (10) working days. Please note that withdrawal of consent may impact our ability to provide products or services to you for the affected purposes. Such impact may include our inability to deliver certain features, process transactions, or provide customer support related to the withdrawn purposes. Further, if you provide personal data of third parties (e.g., family members), you represent and warrant that you have obtained their consent for our collection, use, and disclosure.
Do Not Call (DNC) provisions
For Singapore telephone, text, or fax marketing communications, we will comply with applicable Do Not Call provisions under the PDPA, which include screening against the Do Not Call Registry prior to sending specified messages, honoring valid opt-outs, and maintaining appropriate records. You may opt out of marketing at any time, including by using the mechanisms in the message or by contacting our DPO.
Disclosure of Your Personal Data to Third Parties
Your personal data are intended for us but may be disclosed to third parties in certain circumstances:
SEIKO group Affiliates: SEIKO may share your personal data among SEIKO group affiliates in order to administer our services and products, provide you with customer support, process payments, understand your preferences, send you information about products and services that may be of interest to you and conduct the other activities described in this policy.
Service providers: We use other companies, agents or contractors to perform services on our behalf or to assist us with the provision of our services and products to you. We may share your personal data with the following categories of service provider:
- our distributors;
- infrastructure and IT service providers, including for email archiving;
- marketing, advertising and communications agencies;
- credit reference agencies; and
- accounting auditors and various advisers.
In the course of providing such services, these service providers may have access to your personal data. However, we will only provide our service providers with personal data which is necessary for them to perform their services, and we require them not to use your information for any other purpose. We will use our best efforts to ensure that all our service providers keep your personal data secure.
Third parties permitted by law: In certain circumstances, we may be required to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation (for example, we may be required to disclose personal data to the police, regulators, government agencies or to judicial or administrative authorities).
We may also disclose your personal data to third parties where disclosure is both legally permissible and necessary to protect or defend our rights, matters of national security, law enforcement, to enforce our contracts or protect your rights or those of the public.
Third parties connected with business transfers: We may transfer your personal data to third parties in connection with a reorganization, restructuring, merger or acquisition or transfer of assets, provided that the receiving party agrees to treat your personal data in a manner consistent with this policy.
We will not sell your personal data to third parties.
When we disclose your personal data to the third parties (data intermediaries), we maintain ongoing oversight of such data intermediaries, including periodic performance and security reviews, to ensure reasonable protection measures remain effective.
Notwithstanding, please note our websites may, from time to time, contain links to and from the websites of our business contacts or affiliates. Please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and we have no control over how they may use your personal data. Transfer of Personal Data Outside Singapore

We have complied strictly with rules for handling of personal data, according to its sensitivity, as well as to implement technical and organizational security measures to protect personal data in our possession from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. Such measures include administrative, technical and physical safeguards, for example, limiting access to personal data only to employees and authorized service providers who need to know such information for the purposes described in this policy.
Please be aware, however, that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of the personal data and will constantly review and enhance our information security measures. In the event that we have credible grounds to believe that an incident of personal data breach has occurred, we will take reasonable and expeditious steps in accordance with the PDPA.
Your Rights
You have the following rights in accordance with applicable laws and regulations:
- Access. You have the right to request access to your personal data and to obtain a copy of the personal data undergoing processing. Please be informed that we are entitled to charge a fee to recover the costs directly related to the access and/or obtaining a copy of the personal data for the time and effort spent by us in responding to the same, and will let you know the amount accordingly.
- Correction. We are under the accuracy obligation on your personal data in accordance with the PDPA. Accordingly, you have the right to have incomplete or inaccurate personal data about you under our possession corrected.
- Withdrawing Consent. If you have consented to our collection, use and/or disclosure of your personal data, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge. This includes where you wish to opt out from marketing messages.

Within thirty (30) days upon receiving your request, we shall:

- inform you that your request for access or correction of your personal data is rejected, if the request was made in circumstances predefined by the PDPA where such access or correction is prohibited or not required.
Your Personal Data Retention Period
We generally retain personal data in accordance with our internal policy and for as long as reasonably needed for the specific legal or business purpose or purposes for which it was collected and the duration of your use of our websites. In some cases, we may be required to retain information for a longer period of time based on laws or regulations that apply to our business. Where possible, we aim to anonymize the information or remove unnecessary identifiers from records that we may need to keep for periods beyond the original retention period. Once personal data is no longer necessary, we delete or anonymize it as soon as possible.
Data Breach Management
In the event of a personal data breach, we will conduct self-assessment through the DPO immediately to speed the identification of any damage caused, any restoration or repair and to facilitate the gathering of any associated evidence.
Once the DPO has credible grounds to believe that a data breach has occurred through whatever measures, we shall take reasonable and expeditious steps to assess whether the data breach is notifiable under the PDPA, and complete such assessment within thirty (30) calendar days.
Upon determining that a data breach is notifiable, we will notify:
- the Personal Data Protection Commission of Singapore (“PDPC”) as soon as practicable, but in any case, no later than three (3) calendar days; and
- where required, affected individuals as soon as practicable, at the same time or after notifying the PDPC.
For the purpose of this section, “data breach” means (i) unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal of your personal data; or (ii) any loss of any storage medium or device on which your personal data is stored in circumstances where the unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal of the personal data is likely to occur, which shall include but not limited to the following:
- theft or loss of laptops, PCs or any hardware devices that contain your personal data;
- information security control weaknesses that may lead to your personal data’s leakages; or
- physical security breaches to our facilities where your personal data is stored.
