Hideto Yamazaki, press die assembly and repair technician, is awarded the Medal with Yellow Ribbon.

Seiko Watch Corporation is proud to announce that Hideto Yamazaki, press die assembly and repair technician at Morioka Seiko Instruments Inc., has been awarded this year’s Medal with Yellow Ribbon. This honor is given by the Japanese government to individuals who become public role models through their diligence and perseverance in their professions.

Yamazaki has been engaged in press die assembly and repair since joining the company. With over 30 years of experience manufacturing watch parts, he hand-finishes press dies to the micron level, enabling watch parts to be manufactured with a precision and beauty that cannot be achieved by machine alone. “I am greatly honored and pleased to receive this prestigious award,” said Yamazaki. “I take this award as recognition of our commitment and effort in manufacturing press dies for watches. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all my colleagues involved in the designing, manufacturing and sale of watches, as well as to my family for their support. I feel even more determined to pursue further quality improvement and innovation, and to continue to contribute to the watch industry.”
