Seiko 140th Anniversary Limited Edition
- Available at the Grand Seiko Boutiques
The company’s 140th anniversary is celebrated in a Grand Seiko Spring Drive masterpiece.
This limited edition watch has a platinum case that features a unique hand-engraved pattern depicting the starry skies above Achi in Shinshu, said to be the most beautiful village in Japan. The engraving is done by hand by one of the master Grand Seiko watchmakers whose skills have been hone over
decades and whose extraordinary handcraft work does full justice to Kintaro Hattori’s philosophy of "Always one step ahead of the rest".
The shimmering dial is coated with multiple layers of paint, and the resulting three-dimensional texture creates patterns of light that shine like a star-lit sky.
The watch is powered by Caliber 9R02, the hand assembled Spring Drive movement that delivers a power reserve of approximately 84 hours thanks to the combination of the Dual Spring Barrel and the unique Torque Return System. The watch is produced by the Micro Artist Studio and the movement carries an 18K yellow gold insert engraved with the words Micro Artist. This insert can be exchanged for a plaque engraved with words of the customer's choice.
