joins the cherry-blossom-inspired 62GS range

A new model inspired by the “wind in the spring sunshine” joins the 62GS lineup, evoking a gentle breeze that dazzles the senses when the cherry blossoms are in bloom. The 62GS launched in 1967 with Grand Seiko’s first automatic movement and went on to become one of the brand’s most beloved designs. This new model reinterprets the original 62GS, introducing a dial that expresses the unique seasonal changes of Japan. The dial transports the wearer to a spring day in Japan, when a pleasant breeze causes cherry blossoms to shimmer in the warm sunshine. The bezel-free construction grants the dial an expansive appearance, with the Zaratsu polishing technique creating a striking, multifaceted case design. The movement is the quartz Caliber 4J51, which achieves an accuracy of ±10 seconds per year.

During this time of vigorous energy, the “wind in the spring sunshine” represents the wind and the sun working together to create a shimmering effect. The pale-blue patterned dial represents the time of year when the harshness of winter recedes and our feelings become lighter, brighter, and more forward-looking. Diamonds are arranged symmetrically on the dial, achieving a harmony of aesthetic beauty and legibility. This contributes to the brilliant and pleasant dial design.
