As a guide to the battery replacement period, a battery life indicator is engraved on the case back of the watch as shown in the diagram below. At the time of purchase of the watch, the first battery replacement period is indicated by an engraved circle mark.

Arabic numerals on the scale show the last two digits of the year.
For subsequent battery replacements, a circle mark will be engraved each time a watch is returned to an authorized Grand Seiko retailer for battery replacement or watch repair.
